Capital University of Science & Technology (CUST)

A federal charter designates Capital University of Science & Technology as its founder and grants it the right to provide degrees at different levels across all academic fields. It began operations in 1998 as the Islamabad Campus of Mohammad Ali Jinnah University (MAJU) Karachi and gained respect both domestically and internationally by upholding high academic standards. The President of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan gave his or her assent to a bill that became a law on September 28, 2015, known as the "Capital University of Science and Technology Act," which changed MAJU's Islamabad Campus into Capital University of Science and Technology in recognition of its academic strength, infrastructure, and financial viability (CUST).

It is a comprehensive institution that, in accordance with CUST Act in support of its mission, the key features of the University strategy are:

(a) Outstanding faculty
(b)  Competitive curriculum

We accept students from all over Pakistan at the capital University of Science & Technology, where we train them to be leaders in their chosen fields. Students at the university benefit from mentorship from professors who hold advanced degrees from abroad and have direct access to unmatched opportunities.

Academics

Civil Engineering

The Department of Civil Engineering's mission is to produce capable engineers who can run and manage industries that are dependent on civil engineering. The Washington Accord states that the OBE (Outcome Based Education) approach is used to achieve these objectives.

The Department of Civil Engineering makes sure that future engineers have practical training with cutting-edge engineering tools like the European-made 20,000 kN Servo-Hydraulic Machine (UTM), European-made flow channel, Italian-made 50 kN tension/compression tri-axial machine, etc. The student can develop professionally, personally, and ethically in a highly supportive atmosphere that involves co-curricular activities in addition to classroom and lab work.

 Engineering in Electrical

Through its top-notch academic programmes and competitive research, the Department of Electrical Engineering is committed to fostering ongoing innovation. The department provides graduate programmes in Electrical Engineering and Computer Engineering as well as undergraduate programmes in Electrical Engineering that span a variety of subjects while keeping up with the rapid speed of technological development.

We see training and supporting the next generation of engineers as playing a crucial part in the technical advancement of society. The alumni of the Department of Electrical Engineering are highly recognised by industry due to their technical proficiency, strong analytical abilities, and critical thinking. They are trained in well-equipped, cutting-edge laboratories. With their extensive industrial, academic, and research expertise, the faculty of the Electrical Engineering Department is essential to providing excellence in both.

 Mechanical Engineering

A great educational environment is created at the Mechanical Engineering department to hone the students' talents and skills through cutting edge course work. Department gives its students the opportunity to gain expertise throughout the entire subject while focusing intently on a specific area of specialty. The department's infrastructure is crucial to realising its goal of multidisciplinary research and education. Modern, well-equipped teaching and research labs, workshops, lecture halls, and faculty offices are all part of it.

The department provides a four-year BS in mechanical engineering, as well as MS and PhD degrees in mechanical engineering and an MS in engineering management, all of which have various specialisations. These degrees are important since mechanical engineering is intimately related to business and industry..

Faculty of Health and Life Sciences

The Department encourages independent and creative work and training to advance the excellence of multidisciplinary biological research. Most courses also include wet lab and research-based assignments to help students better understand ideas and gain practical experience. Modern lab facilities, including fully stocked wet labs, tissue culture labs, green houses, and computer labs, have been built by the department to achieve this. Along with the graduate degree in Biosciences, the Department currently offers BS programmes in Biotechnology, Biosciences, and Microbiology. Numerous laboratories have been working on the complete genomes of various species, including bacteria, yeasts, mice, plants, and humans, since the 1990s have started. Utilizing living organisms to develop novel goods and procedures is known as biotechnology. In this field.

Department of Pharmacy

The Department of Pharmacy encourages active learning in a supportive atmosphere to advance excellence in pharmaceutical sciences. In order to meet the challenges facing healthcare and the pharmacy profession, the Department uses a curriculum that not only gives students a solid grounding in the subject, but also equips them with the necessary knowledge and skills to work as competent healthcare professionals in the community, hospitals, and industry. Additionally, the majority of the courses are backed by hands-on training in modern labs and clinical settings to deepen learning and provide experience.  The training includes frequent trips to the workplace, the hospital, and guest lectures by professionals from diverse pharmaceutical industries.
