Rainbow quartz is created through an electrostatic process where the clear quartz crystal is bonded with precious metals such as platinum, gold, titanium, and silver onto its surface. This permanent blend strengthens the properties of the former gemstone, as well as provides it with unique healing properties and metaphysical benefits.
In this particular process, the quartz crystal is treated with CVD (chemical vapor deposition) of a layer of platinum, silver, or any similar metal mentioned above at high heat. This results in an iridescent exterior having highly reflective areas of color and light.
