  • Open the file you have just downloaded, ‘Setup_QuickBooks.exe.’
  • Follow the instructions on your screen and enter your product and license number. 
  • You will be asked to choose the installation type, select ‘Custom or Network Options’ and then click ‘Next.’
  • Now, choose the option as per your network setup from the below options and click ‘Next.’ Both of these options will install the QuickBooks Database Server Manager. You can install the file, even if it's an existing file, as it won’t overwrite your data. 
  • If you are using Database Server Manager and QuickBooks on your server computer, select ‘I’ll be using QuickBooks Desktop on this computer, AND I’ll be storing our company file here so it can be shared over the network.’ 
  • However, if you only want to use QB Database Server Manager on your server computer, select ‘I will NOT be using QuickBooks Desktop on this computer. 
  • Now, follow the remaining instructions and click ‘Install.’ Also, grant the Windows permissions if asked.
