How does  GDPR

GDPR, or General Data Protection Regulation, is a  GDPR  European Union (EU) regulation that was implemented on May 25, 2018. It is designed to protect the personal data of EU citizens by establishing a set of rules that organizations must follow when collecting, processing, and storing their data.

One of the primary goals of GDPR is to give individuals more control over their personal data. This means that companies must obtain explicit consent from individuals before collecting their data, and they must be transparent about what they plan to do with that data. Individuals also have the right to access their data, as well as the right to have it deleted or corrected if it is inaccurate or incomplete.

To ensure compliance with GDPR, organizations must take a number of steps, such as appointing a Data Protection Officer (DPO) who is responsible for ensuring compliance with the regulation, conducting regular risk assessments to identify potential vulnerabilities in their data processing activities, and implementing appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect personal data.

Non-compliance with GDPR can result in significant fines and penalties, which can be as high as €20 million or 4% of a company's global annual revenue, whichever is greater. As a result, many organizations have taken steps to ensure compliance with GDPR, such as updating their privacy policies, implementing new data protection procedures, and providing training to their employees on the regulation.

Overall, GDPR represents a significant shift in the way that organizations collect, process, and store personal data. By giving individuals more control over their data and imposing strict penalties for non-compliance, it aims to protect the privacy and security of personal data in the EU and beyond.
