How To Never Give Up

4 min read

If you look at the sea, you’ll find it rather fascinating. Through the stretch of tides, high and low, the deep blues and blacks reflecting the color of the sky, it is almost like nature’s metaphor for life. Through the rough waters and whirlpools, you might find it difficult to stay afloat in the sea of life. But how does one persist just enough to stay afloat?

Let’s discuss how to never give up.

Having a Purpose

Here is the basis for never giving up. In order to fight for something, you need to have a strong purpose, something worth fighting for. If you have a purpose, the stronger and more meaningful not giving up will become. You will find it easier to fight through the harshest of situations thinking about the “why.”

Perhaps you’re working hard for your loved ones, maybe you’re doing it to get that promotion, or just to be happy and enjoy life to its fullest…

Think about your “why.”

Believing In Yourself

You can only go so far thinking about why you started. But through life, there will be times when you will hear negative things said about your purpose. Maybe people will disregard your efforts and tell you it’s not worth it. This is where you need to believe in your motives and, most importantly, in yourself. You need to know that you are not weak and can conquer anything you set your mind to. Anything is possible if you believe in yourself.

Don’t be afraid to take the leap.

Meditation Is Your Friend

A lot of times, you will get overwhelmed. You need to know that it is okay to take a step back; it’s okay to take the backseat for once. Through those thoughts of negativity, you need to recenter back to the road you left. Meditation is an excellent tool to help you do just that.

Take some time out of your day to meditate, focus on your breath, and let the chaotic thoughts breeze by like the wind.

Surround Yourself With Positivity

You need to surround yourself with nothing but positivity. Cut off ties with friends and family trying to pull you down, as it is important for your mental health. Instead, invest in a nourishing circle filled with those who care about you and those who want you to succeed!

Keep a Journal

We humans often get upset very easily. This is, in fact, what makes us human. Keep a journal and write down your thoughts, feelings, and achievements as you progress toward your goal. This will remind you of how important your efforts are and just how good you are at achieving your goals. When walking the long road to your destination, you often get disheartened by its terrain or how long the journey will be. But if you look back and admire how far you have come, every step moving on will feel different. You will develop a sense that it was all worth it.

And if you still have doubts? How about looking into the life of Immanuel, a dreamer who might be walking a similar walk of life as you. Experience a story filled with drama, tragedy, and hope in Alfred Jendrasik’s book, Thirty Second Avenue, North.
