There are important things to keep in mind on the way to hajj to make sure it is safe and holy. Here is a list of important things to remember while doing Hajj in Makkah. If you cannot afford the Hajj then you have to book the Best umrah packages with Islamic Travel, because these are quite cheaper as compare to the other agencies.

Things you should keep in mind when doing Hajj

  • Make sure you have an extra copy of all your official documents before you go on a trip. Keep an extra copy of your passport and photos in case something goes wrong. Send yourself and a family member an email with all of your documents.
  • Before you go on Hajj, get in shape. You will have to walk a lot, so if you walk or work out every day, it will help you a lot and keep you in shape for your holy journey.
  • Before you leave, make sure you've double-checked everything you've booked, agreed to, and booked. Your agent will set everything up for you, but it's a good idea to double check.
  • Keep both your home country's currency and Riyal (the Saudi currency) in your wallet. If you want to buy gifts for people you care about, bring Riyals with you.
  • Before going on Hajj, you have to pay all your bills and rent, if you have any, as well as any debts you owe. If you have a fight with a family member, you should see them and say you're sorry.
  • Before you go on Hajj, you should learn as much as you can about Makkah and Madinah, learn Duas, and so on. Just focus on one thing at a time and try to master it. Your goal is to please your GOD as much as you can.
  • Find out everything you need to know about Hajj in a clear and honest way. You should read as many books as you can and learn prayers to say at every ceremony.
  • Meet with Hajji's because there is no better way to learn than by doing it yourself. Listen to their stories, and if you have any questions, ask them. Their own experience is the best way for them to help you.
  • Re learns how to do Salah and Wudhu because if you are going to do Hajj, you need to do these things perfectly without making any mistakes. This will make your Hajj perfect.
  • You must know the plan for Hajj. Don't rely on the Imam to tell you what to say and where to say it or which dua to say.
  • It is suggested that you read "Getting the most out of Hajj" by Abu Muneer Ismail Davis, because he explains all the steps of Hajj very well.
  • Make a list of the prayers you say every day. You have to do things like Zikr, Tilawat, Nawafil, etc. every day. This keeps you busy and helps you pay more attention to your prayers.
  • If you know some simple or common Arabic words or phrases, you may be able to talk to people there.
  • Don't waste your time on things that aren't important, and instead do Ibadats.
  • Keep an extra Ihram with you when you go to Mina, because it could get dirty there. During Hajj, you should always wear shoes that are comfortable and strong because you will be walking a lot. If your sandals or shoes aren't comfortable, they could hurt your feet and make it hard for you to pray.
  • The floor of Haram Sharif is made of granite, which gets very hot. If you go there, keep your slippers in your bag.
  • Both Makkah and Madinah have very hot weather. Put a wet hand towel under your cap to stay cool.
  • Don't bring too much stuff. Keep your bag light by carrying only what you need.
  • You must have a small handbag to carry the things you need for the day, like cash, a small Quran, a small book of prayers, a packet of tissues or a hand towel, and your passport.
  • When you are in Haram, don't drink cold or soft drinks. Instead, drink a lot of ZamZam. Fill up small plastic bottles with ZamZam and bring them with you.
  • Those who have pain in their joints or bones should bring a prayer mat with padding.
  • Bring a small, light umbrella, sunglasses, and a handheld fan to protect yourself from the sun and heat.
  • People with allergies must always have a medical face mask with them.
  • During Hajj, you have to walk a lot, so bring something like Vaseline or another good moisturising cream to keep your legs from getting sore.
  • Wet wipes should always be in your bag because they can save your life.
  • Keep basic medicines like Saniplasts, ointments, disprin, etc. with you.
  • At the end of Hajj, women have to cut their hair as part of a ritual. To do this, they must bring small scissors with them.
  • You can charge your phone in Arafat and Muzdalifah. Take a phone with a longer battery life.
  • To clean yourself, use liquid soap or hand sanitizer. Make sure that your soap or hand sanitizer doesn't have a scent.
  • Even though there are a lot of toilets everywhere, there are always long lines at all of them so that wudhu doesn't take hours. To make Wudhu, keep some plastic bags, toilet paper, and a small bottle of water.
  • Make sure you know how to pray by heart and make a list of all the people who want you to pray for them and what they want you to pray for them.
When you first see the angelic Holy Kabah, pray a lot for yourself and your loved one, because that is where prayers are accepted.
  • Include in your prayers the cleaners, guards, police, guides, and doctors who work during Hajj. Make dua for all of the Muslim people everywhere.
  • Spend all your time praying and forget about your everyday life at home. Don't use your phone, email, Facebook, etc. more than you need to. Don't take pictures in the Haram Sharif because it might be seen as a sign of disrespect. Instead, keep your attention on your prayers.
  • Don't spend a lot of time shopping. Don't forget why you're there in the first place.
  • Ask Allah to forgive you and say Talbiyah all the time, remembering that you are here to make your Akhirah.
  • Keep a lot of patience in your bag and leave your anger, hopes, and comfort at home.
  • At Mina, you must sleep outside for three nights, so you have a lot of time. Plan out how you will spend the next three nights. The Holy Quran is best read or listened to on an mp3 player or light-weight books.
  • Ask Allah SWT to give you the strength you need to do all the Hajj rituals right and to have a smooth trip.
  • Don't waste the three hours you have to wait for the bus. Instead, pray or say the Zikr.
  • At Allah's house, everyone is the same. No one is better than anyone else, so be humble. Respect everyone and leave your pride at home. Even if you travel with a VIP package, you are not a VIP here unless you feel like everyone is the same.
  • Drink a lot of water, preferably ZamZam, because it will keep you energised. Instead of junk food, eat healthy, nourishing food.
  • Don't waste food and only put as much as you can easily eat on your plate. In the Holy Land, everything you do counts.
  • Give Sadqah every day, even if you can only afford one Riyal. Allah SWT will reward you for it.
  • Help your fellow Hajjis when they need it, but don't spend your time talking about them.
  • Go to Salah at least an hour before it starts to find a place to pray. On Jummah, you should get to the Masjid early, between 8 and 9 a.m.
  • Don't waste your time picking up pebbles in Arafat, because there are plenty in Muzdalifah. Do Jamarah after Dhuhr prayer, when it is less busy.
  • If you are doing Hajj with a group, make sure to keep your group's ID card and set a place to meet up with your group members so you don't get lost.
  • Being clean is only half-faith. Stay clean and organised. Don't throw trash anywhere, and try to show what Islam is really like.
