Instagram Audio Issues: Trouble With Sound on Your Instagram Videos

Instagram users are encountering a strange problem that is causing a lot of frustration, especially for those who have been using the app for a long time. It seems that something weird is happening with the audio in the oldest videos that people have posted on the platform. The audio is mysteriously disappearing, and no one seems to know why.

It's important to mention that this issue is mainly affecting videos that were posted in or around 2014. Thankfully, newer videos don't seem to be affected at all. It's also worth noting that this problem is not because Instagram is intentionally removing the audio due to copyright concerns. Normally, Instagram would notify users about such actions within the app and through email. However, users who have reported this glitch haven't received any communication from the company about the issue.

So, if you've been experiencing this audio glitch, rest assured that you're not alone. Hopefully, Instagram will address this problem soon and provide some clarity on what's causing it.

According to The Verge, a lot of videos on Instagram, dating from June 2013 to October 2014, have experienced a problem where the audio is missing. These videos now play without any sound, and a message shows up saying, "This video has no sound." It's essential to note that Instagram first introduced the video feature in June 2013.

The report also discovered that the audio is perfectly fine in these affected videos, and they play normally when embedded on another platform. However, when played directly on Instagram, the audio mysteriously doesn't work. Unfortunately, the company hasn't given any explanation yet for this unexpected issue.

Meta is actively working to address the problem of people having trouble accessing audio on older feed posts. According to spokesperson Seine Kim, they are aware that a bug caused this inconvenience and apologize for it. The Verge reported this news.

While Meta is resolving the issue, there is currently no definitive method to restore the audio on the platform. However, the report mentioned that playing the embedded files seems to work fine. So, if you come across videos embedded in another platform, you can watch them with sound and temporarily enjoy those memorable moments.
