Jahaz Mahal Mandu is a historical fort located in the Mandav area in the Dhar district of Madhya Pradesh. Jahaz Mahal is a very famous tourist destination of Mandav, hence it is also known as Mandav's Fort and Jahaz Mahal. Jahaz Mahal is a symbol of the immortal love of Baz Bahadur and Rani Roopmati. The fort of Mandu is shaped like a ship, which has been built between two man-made ponds in ancient times. Jahaz Mahal is also known as "Hidola Mahal" because of its teddy walls. The first Islamic Sultan to rule this fort was Hoshangshah Ghori who ruled here during 1406-1435. The attractive structure and historical significance of the Mandu fort attract tourists, while its location on the banks of the Narmada River adds to its charm.

The ancient name of Mandav city was Mandavgarh, which was known as the world's largest fort city. Every year thousands of tourists from all over the world come here to visit the Mandu Ship Palace. This huge fort is also symbol of love as Taj Mahal because this famous fort was commissioned by Raja Baz Bahadur in the memory of his queen Rani Roopmati in 16th century and similarly Taj mahal was commissioned by mughal emperor Shah Jahan in the memory of his queen Mumtaz Mahal in 17th century. How To Reach:-

The nearest airport is Devi Ahilya Bai Holkar airport Indore at the distance of around 95 km and the nearest railway head is Ratlam railway station which is approx 130 km away from Jahaz mahal. Once after reaching on railway station or airport you can book taxi or cab to reach directly on Jahaz Mahal or you can prefer local transports as e-rickshaw or three wheeler. If you want to reach by road then it is a good choice because Mandu is well connected will all major cities of India and you can arrive here easily by bus or by own vehicle.
