The Xbox lineup for Gamescom-Microsoft's first in-person appearance since 2019, has been revealed.

Microsoft has revealed its plans for the upcoming Gamescom 2022 (opens in new tab) event that will be held later this month in Cologne, Germany. This year's Gamescom 2022 event will be Microsoft's first appearance in person at Gamescom since the event began in 2019. However those who are unable to attend (which we'll be honest, is most of us) it will include a livestreamed presentation (opens new tab) that will feature gameplay and interviews from multiple studios.

The Xbox Booth at Gamescom livestream starts at 5 a.m. PT/8 AM ET on the 25th of August (it's in Europe), and will run until 11:01 PT/2 pm ET. The English-language broadcast will be available in German and French as well as Italian, Spanish (Latin American and Castilian), Brazilian Portuguese and Chinese (Simplified). English Audio Descriptions, ASL, BSL, and DGS interpretations will also be available.

A full schedule will be announced closer to Gamescom however, this is "a glimpse of what to expect":

Microsoft Flight Simulator (opens new tab) (Asobo Studioand Xbox Game Studios Publishing). Gunfire Reborn is (opens new tab)(Duoyi Games/505 Games).

Sea of Thieves (opens in new tab) (Rare Games (Rare Games) Xbox Game Studios)

Lies of P (opens in a new tab) (Neowiz)

High On Life (opens new tab) (Squanch Games).

Grounded (opens in a new tab) (Obsidian Entertainment / Xbox Game Studios)

Pentiment (opens new tab) (Obsidian EntertainmentPentiment (Obsidian Entertainment Xbox Game Studios).

A Plague Tale: Requiem (opens in new tab) (Asobo Studio / Focus Entertainment)

Minecraft Legends (opens in new tab) (Mojang Studios & Blackbird Interactive / Xbox Game Studios)

Planet of Lana (opens in new tab) (Wishfully / Thunderful)

Age of Empires 4 (opens in a new tab) (Relic Entertainment and World's Edge / Xbox Game Studios)

There's certainly some interesting stuff in there. Pentiment, a 16th-century narrative adventure in development at Obsidian, is probably at the top of my list, but Lies of P-the Pinnochio Bloodborne-alike-looks darkly promising too, and of course everyone is waiting for a closer look at Minecraft Legends, the RTS Minecraft spinoff. Another one I am excited about is Planet of Lana, an indie platformer set to release later in the year.

If you are unable to attend Gamescom in person Microsoft will have a variety of games that are available to play in public (including Lies of P, Planet of Lana) and you'll have the chance to take photos with among them the VASCO robot from Starfield and a five-meter-wide Broodmother Spider from Grounded. Here's how to enter:

- Friday, August 26 10:00am - 8:00pm CEST

Saturday, August 27 9 am - 8 9:00 PM CEST

Gamescom 2022 will officially begin with Geoff Keighley's Opening Night Live, which will start at 11 a.m. at PT and 2 p.m. ET on August 23. The Future Games Show (opens in new tab), hosted by our good pals at GamesRadar, will run simultaneously on August 24 with a showcase of 50 games from a range of different developers.
