Erling Haaland only sat on the bench when Manchester City were held to a draw at Copenhagen in the Champions League. Manchester City also received criticism for being blunt without Haaland's presence.
Man City were held to a goalless draw with Copenhagen when they traveled to Parken Stadium, Wednesday (12/10) early morning WIB. The Citizens actually had a number of golden opportunities to win, but Rodri's goal was disallowed and Riyad Mahrez missed a penalty.
Pep Guardiola's decision not to play Haaland even though the Norwegian was on the bench and Man City are struggling to score goals has drawn criticism.
Not a few who mention 'No Haaland, No Party' on Twitter. In addition, netizens also think that Manchester City is nothing without Haaland this season.
"Manchester City without Haaland is just a refurbished Sunderland," wrote one netizen.
Haaland has really become Man City's mainstay to score goals this season. The former Borussia Dortmund player has scored 20 goals in 13 games in all competitions so far.
Without Haaland, Man City also ended the record for always scoring in the last 26 matches. The last time Man City failed to score before was in a goalless draw against Atletico Madrid in the Champions League last season, April 14, 2022.
Despite being held to a draw in Copenhagen, Man City still ensured a step into the last 16 of the Champions League this season. Man City's position at the top of Group G is already impossible to shift to Sevilla and Copenhagen.
