Oman's Rich Cultural Heritage: Immersive Experiences on Your Tour

Among the many places I have always wanted to visit should I be able to go on a tour, is Oman. I believe it is among the most fascinating countries to visit as it is so full of history and culture that is just waiting to be explored and seen. 

If ever you do decide to go on and sign up for an Oman tour package, you should note all the really cool things to see and do while there. 

The Grand Mosque

The Oman tour package will begin with a visit to the Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque. It is the country’s largest mosque. It’s construction was commissioned by the Sultan of Oman, Qaboos bin Said al Said. The majestic mosque features an immense prayer hall. Many visitors are amazed to see the very intricate and mesmerizing Islamic calligraphy that decorates the walls of the prayer hall as well as the beautiful Persian carpet which adorns the floor.  

Nakhal, Wadi Bani Awf, and Jebel Shams

No Oman tour package is complete without a visit to Nakhal Fort. Just picture yourself in an ancient castle located atop a hill surrounded by nature at her awesome best. Imagine the view you will have atop the towers.

Wadi Bani Awf is a long stretch of “wadi” or ravine that covers many villages with countless attractions including “snake canyon” which is quite popular with visitors. 

Think of Jebel Shams as a really high mountain that is trying to touch the sun. You can’t go wrong hiking up its slopes and enjoying the view from its summit. 

 Al Hamra, Misfah Al Abryin, and Jabal Akhdar

On the second day of your Oman tour package, you can expect visits to many popular destinations like Al Hamra. It is a magical place where it may appear that time has decided to stand still. It is so easy to imagine that you are travelling through time as you go walking along its very old streets among the ancient homes. 

The village of Misfah Al Abryin will reveal itself to you like a hidden gem that has come to light. Stone houses with narrow paths, the village will make you feel you are within a fairy tale. 

Spend the night at Jabal Akhdar where the mountain offers exciting hiking trails, waterfalls, crisp fresh air and bursts of colorful flowers along the way. 

Birkat Al Mouz, Jibreen Castle, Nizwa, and Muscat

On the fourth day of the Oman tour package, you can expect a visit to the peaceful village of Birkat Al Mouz. It is a beautiful oasis surrounded by a sea of green fields and date palm trees. Another castle awaits you in the form of Jibreen castle was built in 1675 and was a center of learning for Islamic Law, medicine, and astrology. 

There is no better way to witness a country’s rich culture that visiting a bustling marketplace like Nizwa. The colorful and vibrant hub of activity that is Nizwa Souq will bathe you in colors, aromas, sights, and sounds like you have never experienced before. Nizwa Fort is a tower that is surrounded by a maze of high walls to deter any intruders. 

Oman is among the most fascinating countries that is rich in culture and history just waiting for the rest of the world to come and explore. You can dive in and soak the rich tastes, colors, aromas, and sights by visiting this great country.
