One-netbook has finally launched the ONEXFLY, a new entry in its ONEXPLAYER series. Available from US$739, the ONEXFLY has a 120 Hz and 7-inch display, an AMD Ryzen 7 7840U APU and a 48 Wh battery in a package that weighs less and is smaller than the ASUS ROG Ally.
ONEXPLAYER ONEXFLY launches as smaller but equally as powerful
One-netbook has now launched the ONEXFLY on Indiegogo, a day after Minixpc opened pre-orders for the new gaming handheld on its website. As we have discussed previously, the ONEXFLY is the latest spin-off under One-netbook's ONEXPLAYER brand, which it most recently refreshed with the ONEXPLAYER 2 Pro. Arguably, the ONEXFLY shares hardly any components with the ONEXPLAYER 2 Pro, apart from an AMD Ryzen 7 7840U APU.
For reference, the Ryzen 7 7840U combines 8 CPU cores based on the Zen 4 architecture with a Radeon 780M, an RDNA 3-derived iGPU that has 12 Compute Units (CUs). According to our benchmarks, the Ryzen 7 7840U delivers over a 20% performance boost compared to the Ryzen 7 6800U, although GPU improvements vary depending on the task at hand. For example, the Radeon 780M is 4% faster than the Radeon 680M on average, but the former's AVX-512 support ensures superior emulation performance.
Additionally, the ONEXFLY has LPDDR5X RAM, PCIe 4.0 flash storage and a 48 Wh battery that supports 65 W charging. Another star of the show is the device's 7-inch IPS display, which outputs at 1,920 x 1080 pixels with a 120 Hz refresh rate and 100% sRGB colour space coverage. Somehow, One-netbook has packed all this hardware into a 265 x 98.25 x 22.6 mm chassis that weighs 580 g, making it one of the smallest AMD Phoenix-based gaming handhelds around.
The ONEXFLY is orderable now on Indiegogo, starting at US$739. Please note that this price includes 512 GB of storage and 16 GB of RAM; higher RAM and storage configurations run for significantly more than One-netbook's base price. Currently, One-netbook hopes to start shipping the ONEXFLY next month. Please see the company's Indiegogo campaign for more details.
