'Minecraft' October Updates are Big Deals for Tweakers and VR

Minecraft is getting close to a few updates that could fundamentally alter how you play in the event that you are a fan of playing with game mechanics... or simply immerse yourself in an immersive virtual world. The update that will be released on October 18th for Minecraft's Windows 10 Pocket and Gear VR editions will include Add-Ons. It's an excellent way to get into the world mods without learning programming.



VR players, for instance they can benefit from more advanced controller support. The Bluetooth-enabled Xbox One gamepad, similar to the one that comes with the Xbox One S, can be used with Windows 10 and Gear VR editions. Oculus Rift users can also utilize Oculus Touch hand controls. The update will make Minecraft in VR feel more like a mobile or desktop game.



The new software brings boss battles for Windows 10, Pocket, and Gear VR versions.



Console users won't have to wait until 18th April to have something new, however. Mojang and Microsoft have announced an Chinese Mythology Mash-Up. This will introduce characters and a setting inspired by China's culture. Banners and other logical biomes will be included, including polar bears or Igloos in arctic settings. Xbox and Wii U gamers get this update on October 4th, while the PlayStation crowd will receive it on the 5th.
