Apple Arcade Finally Releases Fantasian and Wonderbox

Apple Arcade celebrated a huge Friday. The gaming service, which costs $5 per month, released Fantasian, the new RPG by Final Fantasy creator Hironobu Sachaguchi and Mistwalker as well as Wonderbox The Adventure Maker from Aquiris. Both games were revealed during Apple Arcade's September launch. The platform also introduced NBA 2K21 Arcade Edition. On top of that, the service unveiled another 30 titles that are available today.



Both Wonderbox and Fantasian launched in select countries before launching in the US for Apple Arcade subscribers. Fantasian shares its launch date with the launch of Final Fantasy VI 27 years prior, according to a tweet from Sakaguchi. Final Fantasy VI was an inspiration for Fantasian, Sakaguchi told CNET.



Fantasian RPG legend Sakaguchi has kept players fed over the past few years by posting updates on the development of Fantasian and gameplay, screenshots, concept art and more on his social media page. Sakaguchi, Mistwalker started hints in January that the brand new mobile RPG would be released this year.

The story of Fantasian focuses on Leo the protagonist who is a young boy who lost his memory following an explosion in the hybrid magic-tech manufacturing facility. After awakening in an environment dominated by machines, Leo sets out on the search for his missing father , with just one clue: A repeating vision of a young woman. When Leo arrives in En, an old frontier town that is dusty and encounters Kina -- the woman from his dream.



They set out on an adventure to recover Leo's memoriesand uncover their destiny. As Leo's past is revealed along with other mysteries in the multi-dimensional adventure the balance between order and chaos is becoming more difficult to maintain.



Fantasian features over 150 handcrafted dioramas that form the game's world as well as a gorgeous soundtrack from the legendary Final Fantasy composer Nobuo Uematsu.



Wonderbox: The Adventure Maker Brazilian gaming studio Aquiris' Wonderbox. The Adventure Maker was previously known under the name Box Project, joined Apple Arcade's extensive games catalog on Friday. Strongcraft.Org Wonderbox is an 3D adventure video game that allows players to explore a vast universe through "boxes" or portals. Simple swipe and tap mechanics make it easy to operate the controls.
