If you're lucky enough to win, you'll have to visit a lottery agent in Bangkok to claim your prize. Thai lottery winners are obliged to claim their prize within two years from the date of the draw. Generally, tickets are sold for 80 baht, although there are vendors who charge as much as 120 baht for lucky numbers. It is advisable to be knowledgeable about Thai superstition and purchase tickets from vendors who are more experienced.
There are two types of tickets: Thai Charity Lottery and Thai Government Lottery. Each of these lottery tickets has different prizes and chances of winning. In the TGL, there is a first prize of three million baht. The TCL, on the other hand, has a maximum prize payout of two million baht.
Thai lottery winners can claim their prizes from the vendor who sold them their winning tickets. For bigger prizes, however, winners have to visit the GLO head office. It is located in Nonthaburi, near the Muang District. It is open every day from 8:30am to 3pm, except on public holidays.
