The Enthralling Colour of the 9-carat Emerald

The colour is what really counts in a 9 carat emerald. Frequently referred to as "Colombian green" because to its association with the South American country known for its emerald reserves, this colour is not exclusive.   Subtle variations and a striking interplay of brighter highlights and lush depths can be found in a 9 carat emerald stone.  The jewel is made even more captivating by the colour play, or "saturation" and "tone," which adds a depth of complexity. Occasionally noticeable inclusions—tiny cracks or crystals within the stone—add personality and provide evidence of the emerald's natural origin.  A knowledgeable gemologist will, however, make sure that minor inclusions do not lessen a 9 carat emerald's overall brilliance.
