The Laylat-al-Ja'iza (Night of Eid-ul-Fitr)

The Laylat-al-Ja'iza (Night of Eid-ul-Fitr)

Asslamualaikum Readers,

Today we were talking about Laylat-al-Ja'iza (Night of Eid-ul-Fitr)!

What night is al-Ja'iza?

The night at the end of the blessed and holy month of Ramazan, i.e. the night of Eid-ul-Fitr, which is known as the Moon Night, is full of special blessings, mercy, forgiveness and great virtue. In which Allah forgives His servants by being more generous than all the nights of this blessed month, but it is a matter of little luck that people are usually unaware of it and thus cause deprivation by being deprived of the blessings and blessings of this great night. In the Hadith, this night i.e. the night of Eid is called "Laylat-al-Ja'iza" (night of reward), in which there are great blessings and good news for those who worship with the intention of reward with faith and accountability. Those who benefited from the blessings and virtues of this holy month through their worship and fasting in this month. He made Allah's mercy and forgiveness a right for himself. They have attained the reward of salvation from Hell and thus are entitled to the blessings, blessings and rewards of Allah.

  • There is also a lot of joy among the angels on "Laylat-al-Ja'iza" and Allah asks them by praising them:

"What is the wage of a labourer who has completed his wages, so the angels say that he should get full compensation and wages. " Allah says: "O Angels! Bear witness that I have paid the fasting people of the Ummah of Muhammad( peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him), that is, forgave those who fast."

There is also a great virtue of The Night of Eid in hadiths. It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Hurairah (ra) that The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: "My ummah has been given five things specifically about Ramadan, which the first ummah did not get."

That the smell of his mouth is more desirable to Allah than musk. The fish pray for him (the fasting person) and continue till the time of iftar.

Paradise is adorned for them every day, and then Allah says: "It is near that My righteous servants throw their hardships over themselves and come to Me." In this, rebellious devils are imprisoned. On the last night of Ramadan, those who fast are forgiven.

The Companions asked, "Is this night of forgiveness the night of Qadr?" The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said, "No, but the law is that the wages are paid at the time of the end of the worker's work." (Musnad Ahmad, Bazar, Bihaqi)

The night of Laylat-al-Ja'iza (Night of Eid-ul-Fitr) is especially to engage in worship. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: "Whoever wakes up on both Eids (Eid-ul-Fitr and Eid-ul-Azha) with the intention of reward (and engages in worship), his heart will not die on the day when everyone's hearts will die (i.e., at the time of fitnah and corruption and in the terrible and terrible day of resurrection)."

In another hadith, the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: "Whoever wakes up in five nights. Paradise will be obligatory for him (these are the five nights)"

  1. Laylat al-Tarwiyah (8th Dhul-Hijjah night)
  2. Laylat al-Arafah (Arafah 9th Dhul-Hijjah night)
  3. Laylat al-Nahr (10th Dhul-Hijjah, Eid-ul-Azha night)
  4. Laylat-ul-Muqawwal (Night of Eid-ul-Fitr)
  5. Shab-e-Barat (night of 15th Sha'ban)
  • This is the reason why the Companions, The Tabi'een, taba'i taba'een and our scholars used to appreciate these nights and used to make special arrangements for worship, remembrance and prayer in it. Jurists have also written it mustahabb to wake up on the nights of Eid.
  • Shaykh 'Abd al-Haq Muhaddith Dehlawi has narrated from Imam Shafi'i (may Allah have mercy on him) that "five nights" have accepted the prayer. (1) Night of Friday, (2) Night of Eid-ul-Fitr, (3) Night of Eid-ul-Azha, (4) First night of Rajab, (5) Fifteenth night of Sha'ban.
