Royole was the first to come out of the gate with a foldable phone and it's now ready for the second round. Royole claims that the FlexPai 2 will have Royole's 3rd generation Cicada Wing FFD, which features a significantly increased bend radius. It's now just 1mm. The FlexPai 2 is still able to bend more than 200,000 times, despite having a diameter of 3mm.
The phone is able to have an improved fold- perhaps much more similar to, if not superior to Huawei's Mate Xs which has a similar outward-facing flexible screen. ZTE is working with the company on future phones, so you might see one in the wild.
