Characteristics of romantic love

Romantic love can be divided into different stages. The early stages are characterized by stress, while the later stages are characterized by feelings of safety and calm. The early stages are also marked by intimacy and romantic passion. The second phase of romantic love has been labeled 'passional love'.

Nature of agape

The Nature of Agape for Love is a quality of love which impels us to give up ourselves for something we love. It speaks of the love that is awakened by the sense of worth and preciousness of the object we love.

Nature of storge

The Nature of Storge and Love are closely related concepts. Both are based on the idea of eternal love and are rooted in familial values. Nevertheless, Storge cannot explain the unique bond between parents and children. Storge was one of many principles of Ancient Greek civilization, and it has endured over the centuries.

Characteristics of chesed

The Hebrew word chesed means "kindness" and is a term that is used to describe both God's love for the Children of Israel and the love between people. Chesed is a virtue and an important aspect of tikkun olam (repairing the world). In the Jewish tradition, chesed is also one of the ten Sephirot of the Kabbalistic Tree of Life. It is often equated with love and kindness, and is the first of the human emotions.

Characteristics of brotherly love

The apostles and Jesus both taught brotherly love. This kind of kindness is still required in our modern society, when we are all pursuing our individual goals. In addition, William Penn, the founder of Philadelphia, was a Quaker, and wanted to give the state religious freedom, hence the name Philadelphia.
