Digital School Concept
The Digital School is an initiative of the Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiative (MBRGI) to provide certified online education to students who do not have easy access to formal education in the Arab region and other parts of the world. This initiative aims explicitly at young people in refugee camps and marginalized communities regardless of social, economic, and educational background.
To achieve the goals of this initiative, the "Alliance for the Future of Digital Learning" was formed to support and promote the implementation of digital school systems at various levels. In the digital school, teachers will be selected based on their organizational and leadership skills and ability to work with young people.
Curriculum and credits
The school offers live virtual classes in mathematics, science, Arabic, computer studies, and English based on interactive simulations, game-based learning, and artificial intelligence-based learning modules. Students will be assessed through interactive activities, assignments, and digital interactive systems. The school will seek digital learning accreditation from leading organizations such as Cacnia, a non-profit organization that accredits schools internationally. The organization will coordinate with relevant educational institutions in the region to create an accreditation model for digital education and provide American curricula in Sharjah compatible with the national education system.
Creating a digital school
The initial phase of this school started in November 2020 with 20,000 students. This phase looks at digital systems, content flow, interoperability, student engagement, and curriculum accountability for each age group. For the academic year 2021-2022, the Digital School will officially accept the first group of students in September 2021. By 2026, it is planned to reach one million students.
Madrasa (e-learning platform)
In October 2018, Madrasa was launched in the UAE, offering 5,000 free Arabic language videos on general science, mathematics, biology, chemistry, and physics. Provides over 11 million words of educational content for students in kindergarten through 12th grade. More than 50 million Arab students worldwide can access this site online. Students can access the platform from their computer or mobile phone through the school app in iTunes. The e-learning platform offers a 1000x1000 daily quiz that asks one daily question for 1000 days. Students can answer one question each day and be entered into a drawing to win $1,000. Muhammad bin Rashid announced the first result of a translation call to -Mactum is the World Cover (MBRGI) in 2017 Madaras.
This platform is intended to:
- Closes the gap of knowledge in the Arab world.
- Remove the hurdles when Arabic students seek available resources and information in English.
- Creating a new generation of intellectual communities and also appropriate Arab researchers, scientists, innovators, Inventors, and their ability to develop the best future for their countries
- Providing quality training that follows the latest international science and mathematics curriculum
- Create self -illumination, and method with a traditional educational institution.
In the future, the platform will deal with the subjects of the Arabic language, computer science, engineering, programming, artificial intelligence, and space science.
Programs and training
Duroosi
The UAE Ministry of Education has partnered with Etisalat and Google for an online education startup to create hundreds of YouTube tutorials for grade 11 and 12 students.
Durosi ("My Studies" in Arabic) is a YouTube channel with 600 tutorials covering different subjects based on the Islamic curriculum and aims to help families reduce the high cost of private education. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs scanned all the essential subjects of classes 11 and 12 and gave the material to Etisalat, which produced a YouTube video in Arabic. This is Etisalat's first e-learning project. The company wants to create similar exercises for other age groups.
Diwan e-book reader
The Ministry of Education has launched Diwan e-reader to help download books and read online. Dubai American schools teachers and students can view and interact with the curriculum electronically.
Mohammed Bin Rashid Smart Learning Project
Another pioneering brilliant learning initiative in the UAE is the Mohammed bin Rashid Smart Learning Project. The project is a joint venture between the Ministry of Education (MOE) and the UAE Telecommunications and Digital Government Regulatory Authority (TDRA) in collaboration with the UAE Prime Minister's Office. The AED 1 billion projects is part of Vision 2021 and will be implemented in four phases over five years. To prepare schools to meet the target, the ministry, in collaboration with Etisalat, has equipped around 400 campuses with the latest 4G networks, electronic whiteboards, intelligent tablets, and electronic content, including textbooks for iPhone, iPad, and Android operating systems. electronic learning
E-learning has received a significant boost with the current Bachelor and Master courses in All over the UAE.
