Top Printer Tips and Tricks Can Help Go A Long Way!
2 min read

There are several printer tips and tricks you perhaps not be aware of. These tips are beneficial, help reduces ink waste, and may come in handy in most cases.

  1. Change Printer’s Resolution

Your printer’s resolution makes a difference! Most top-notch printing units have default resolution settings set to 600 DPI or even higher. Beyond images, 600 DPI or higher is generally excessive. For instance, you can get basic document printouts at 300 DPI. For scrap documents like receipts and notes, 72 DPI is more than enough.

  1. Change of Font Helps Save Ink

The font you choose to print decides how much ink will be used. As a general rule of thumb. Sparsely choose fonts that are bold, big, and flashy. The most viable fonts are Arial, Verdani, Calibri, Times New Roman, and Go for Century Gothic. Using these fonts does not drain the toner/ink cartridges.

  1. Low on Black Ink?

If you are low on black ink and do not have the replacement cartridge on hand, you may tap into the colored ink option. Until you refill the black cartridge, consider printing your documents in dark grey or blue. These shades are closest to black and will help you stay on track until you get the black ink replacement. 1. Shake The Toner!

While you have a laser printer, such as Konica Minolta Bizhub 958, you are more likely to see alerts that you are low on toner. Once you get the alert, simply take out the cartridge and shake it up!

It may appear crazy! However, this trick nudges the powder inside the toner that gets lodged in place. While you shake it, the powder loosens and is all set to be used efficiently by the printer again.
