Types of Braces That You Need to Know About

3 min read

Braces treatment is a very popular orthodontic treatment process where braces aligners are used to fix dental misalignments and malocclusions. Braces are also extremely effective in fixing orthodontic issues and helping people align their teeth and jaw and reap the benefits of having straighter teeth. Most of us already know about it; some of us are pondering on whether we must opt for some excellent braces in Inman or Invisalign in Inman. In this article, we shall focus on learning more intimately about Inman Braces and the various types of options in Inman Braces that you can choose from.

Metal braces:

Metal braces are made of metal. These are the most conventional kinds. Metal braces gradually move your teeth by using wires, brackets, and bands made of stainless steel to apply a constant and consistent force on the teeth and the jaw. It is not extreme, but it is consistent and that does the job over a period of time. Each tooth will have a bracket bonded (glued) to it and this is where you need to opt for a good orthodontist. The brackets are then covered with a slender and elastic arch-wire. Then we have the Ligatures, which are tiny elastic bands, that hold the wire securely locked onto the spot. Typically, metal braces are visible or conspicuous. This is one of the issues with it which can be solved by opting for transparent or tooth-coloured ligatures if you want your braces to blend in with your teeth. Or, if you're in the mood for something cheerful, go for ligatures with vibrant colors.

Ceramic braces:

Ceramic braces are also known as clear braces. As far as the functioning of the apparatus is concerned, it pretty much works the same way as metal braces. The primary distinction between ceramic braces and regular metal braces is the colour of the brackets, wires, and ligatures. In the case of the former, these are tooth-coloured. This allows them to blend in with your teeth, making them less noticeable to others when you are smiling, laughing or just talking. In essence, they seamlessly complement your smile and enhance your overall aesthetics and your look. While ceramic braces are less obvious, they are not completely invisible or transparent; they are still visible, but it is not too loud, as in the case of traditional metal braces. The fact that ceramic braces are more brittle than metal braces is another significant distinction between the two.

It is important to remember that whether you opt for Inman Braces or Inman Invisalign, choosing the right orthodontist to help you with the treatment and the progress is a must. It is always prudent to talk to your orthodontist about the best option for you if you find yourself at cross roads.
