  • Penguin (2012): Penguin targeted websites that employed deceptive link-building strategies, highlighting the value of genuine, high-quality backlinks even more.
  • Google was able to better grasp the context and intent underlying search queries because to Hummingbird (2013), which pioneered the idea of semantic search.
  • Mobile-Friendly Update (2015): As mobile usage increased, Google's algorithm began to prioritize websites that are mobile-responsive in search results.
  • RankBrain (2015): RankBrain improved the ability of Google's algorithm to understand and react to complex search requests by introducing machine learning to it.
  • Bidirectional Encoder Representations from Transformers, or BERT (2019), enhanced Google's comprehension of linguistic nuances and increased the accuracy of search results.
