The fertility expert will do several checkups and medical testing on the surrogate mother and also on the intended parents which will confirm their health condition. This result includes the ability of the surrogate mother to conceive a pregnancy, disorders that could be transmitted to the baby, and getting the fertility and health of the intended parent`s gametes.

The next step includes giving counselling sessions to the surrogate mother and the intended parents to manage the stress level and provide information about the process which will help in better results. Later, a legal agreement is formed between the surrogate mother and the couple. A lawyer will frame the rights of the intended parents over the baby. The legal binding between the couple and the surrogate will eliminate any future problems regarding the baby.

The surrogacy treatment will begin once fertility medication is given to the intended female parent to stimulate egg production in the ovaries. The quality of the egg will be improved and an increase in ovarian functions can be seen. The eggs will be released inside the uterus with the help of hormonal injections. With the help of a catheter, the eggs of the female partner will be retrieved. A thin needle will be used to aspirate the eggs from the follicles of the female partner. During this time, the semen sample of the intended male parent will be collected for preparation of healthy sperm which will be used for fertilization.

The intended parents eggs and sperm will be combined in a petri dish. The expert will observe the mixing procedure and see the formation of fertilized eggs. If required ICSI (intracytoplasmic sperm injection) may be used which involves injecting a single sperm into the eggs for successful fertilization results. The fertilized eggs, now called embryos will be transferred inside the uterus of the surrogate mother using a catheter.

Pregnancy will be confirmed after two weeks through ultrasound and blood tests. The intended parents will be recommended to offer advanced care to the surrogate mother during the pregnancy cycle which will ensure the delivery of a healthy baby. Once the
surrogate mother gives birth, the baby will be handed over to the intended parents either through vaginal or a C-section.
