Sex education also helps students to find help if they are assaulted. It teaches them about what entails sexual violence, that sexual violence is unacceptable and ways to prevent it. This is important considering the fact the eight percent of the high school students admit that they were forced to have intercourse and about one out of ten students’ claims to have been involved in sexual violence.
Sex education not only teaches about rights and wrongs or health and social benefits of practicing it rightly but it also enlightens the students to show respect to all the people around regardless of their sexual orientation or gender identity.
Efficacy of Sex Education
Comprehensive sexual education have been effective in managing public health strategy to control and reduce adolescent pregnancy.
Research shows that 50 percent of the students from age group 15 to 19, were less likely to indulge in early age sexual activity after receiving sexuality education.
