Who is Stein Eriksen?

Stein Eriksen (December 11, 1927 – December 27, 2015) was a Norwegian ski racer who started skiing at the age of four. He is considered one of the greatest skiers in history and became a pioneer in freestyle skiing, winning the first Olympic gold medal in the sport at the 1952 Winter Olympics in Oslo, Norway. He later moved to the United States and served as a ski coach and instructor at various ski resorts. He was inducted into the International Ski Racing Hall of Fame in 1976 and the U.S. Ski and Snowboard Hall of Fame in 1982. The Stein Eriksen Lodge in Utah, USA is named after him.
