Who is Coronado?

Thank you!

Coronado, also known as Francisco Vásquez de Coronado, was a Spanish explorer who led an expedition to search for the Seven Cities of Gold in the southwestern part of North America in the early 1540s. His expedition covered parts of what are now the U.S. states of Arizona, New Mexico, Texas, Oklahoma, and Kansas, as well as the Mexican states of Sonora and Chihuahua. While he did not find the wealth he sought, Coronado’s expedition was significant for exploring and mapping much of the region and opening up new areas for Spanish settlement.
