American hackers "bomb" Minecraft version of Denmark and raise stars and stripes in cyber-attack

Hackers have attacked the Danish government's plan to recreate the entire nation using the well-known computer game Minecraft.



Officials confirmed that large cities - including Copenhagen which was damaged after users found an opportunity to smuggle virtual dynamite, thought to be banned from the Danish area of the Minecraft world.



Parts of the city are being rebuilt by the Danish government.



Danish officials have acknowledged that "Several large Danish towns were levelled to the ground, and many new things have been built all over the place."



WHAT IS MINECRAFT



The government was the first to fully integrate a country into the massive Minecraft games. It hoped it would enhance learning for students.

It even produced a series of lesson plans for teachers to assist them in navigating the virtual version of their country.



Initial reports suggested that entire cities were destroyed.



However the claims have been denied.



"Entire cities are not completely fooled by the media." It's just MINOR regions," Chris Hammekenof Danish GeoData Agency stated.



"We believe that a normal part of playing Minecraft is that elements are broken down and new ones are being made.

"But sometimes , we rebuild minor places if buildings have been taken down and no new construction is taking place."



"We've built Denmark online in Minecraft to allow young people can plant their own forest and create riding schools, lakes, wind turbine, biogas plant and many more,' said the Kirsten Brosbol, Danish Minister for the Environment, at the project's launch.



'Pupils think it is much more enjoyable when they are working on their own home or street, and so on.
