"Game of Thrones" fans remember Jack Gleeson for his role as the rare villain Joffrey Baratheon. However, fans of the series know that in real life, the Irish actor is completely different from his screen image. The young Irishman - a philanthropist, brave and humble guy. He sees his popularity as a tool with which to do good. So, for example, now Jack Gleason is in Kiev, talking to Ukrainian soldiers and actors. The actor came to the capital of Ukraine not just for fun, but with gifts for the defenders of the warring country!

Jack Gleason in Kyiv: why he arrived and what he brought!

Not Joffrey at all. In his time, it took a lot of effort for Jack to get rid of the Joffrey Baratheon image. Too convincing a young Irishman to play the role of an egocentric scoundrel! It got to the point where Gleeson wanted to end his acting career. "The lifestyle of an actor from a successful television series is not my thing," the celebrity declared.

Gleeson's fans know that the guy has always sought to live a simple life, not to shine among Hollywood stars. In the years since the "Game of Thrones" finale, though, close friends of the actor have convinced him to reconsider his decision. After all, it would be a crime to bury such a talent as Jack!

Irish Philanthropist

What reconciled Gleeson to life as an actor was the opportunity to use his popularity for good causes. Since 2013, the former Joffrey Baratheon has toured the world supporting the poor and underprivileged. As you can imagine, Jack Gleeson just couldn't get past the nightmare going on in Ukraine. The Irishman willingly joined the ranks of celebrities helping the Russian-attacked country!

Few people expected Gleason to actively support Ukraine. In fact, the actor could have limited himself to generous donations, as, for example, DiCaprio did. But now Jack Gleason is in Kiev! And judging by what he does there, the actor understands pretty well what he came to the capital of Ukraine for.

Not by word but by deed

Not every philanthropist dares to enter a country at war. Angelina Jolie and Sean Penn, Ben Stiller, Jessica Chastain and Liev Schreiber are among those who have not been afraid to personally support Ukraine in the confrontation with the occupants. Now Jack Gleason has joined these brave men.

Words of support didn't stop there. The Irishman brought with him a pickup truck, which he immediately handed over to the VSU. Jack wants to stay in Ukraine for 3-4 days. He's going to hold several meetings with fans - both military and civilian. In addition, Gleason's plans include charity events, the income from which will go to a truck for Ukrainian mortar men.

People who have been to meetings with Jack admire the calmness and composure of the young Irishman. Gleason was not even embarrassed by the air raid! Ukrainian musicians and artists also appreciated the actor's actions. For example, the guys from the Kalush Orchestra, winners of Eurovision-2022, presented the guest from across the sea with a signature panama. "Thank you personally for coming to us in such difficult times and supporting us," the musicians addressed to Jack. The Irishman showed, not in word, but in deed, that he is a true friend of Ukraine!
