It was here that the actor and his children, 12-year-old Annick and 10-year-old Madita, welcomed the New Year and enjoyed a vacation. On January 1, the man even shared emotions from the vacation. So, he published in his blog in Instagram a photo of the beach at sunset.
It is curious that soon this publication will be called prophetic by the users of the Network. The reason for this was the words of Oliver, preceding the terrible tragedy. "Greetings from somewhere in paradise! To togetherness and love ... 2024, we go," - wrote the actor, clearly having serious plans for the next 12 months. Alas, they were never destined to come true.

January 4, Christian left the island of Bequia with his daughters and went to Hewanorra Airport in St. Lucia. Here they were to board a private single-engine airplane and begin their return home. But it was not long after departure that problems began. Serious malfunctions appeared in the system, which the pilot and owner of the aircraft, Robert Sachs, had no way of fixing.

According to eyewitness reports, the plane crash occurred two kilometers off Petite Nevis Island. It was here that the plane began a near-vertical downward plunge. After hitting the water, the ship began to sink. Immediately all fishermen and divers in the vicinity rushed to the crash site. However, it was not possible to save anyone. The bodies of four passengers were lifted from 20-meter depth by coast guard officers.
Undoubtedly, what happened was tragic news not only for Oliver's family and friends, but also for colleagues and even fans. So, Bai Lin, who worked with Christian on the recently completed shooting of the thriller, admitted that she was incredibly shocked: "I just can not believe that this is true. Back on December 20, just before Christmas, we were working together in Hollywood..."
