How far along are we with the US's adoption of mobile health?
2 min read

The adoption of a technology is crucial to its success. If users do not use it, it is equivalent to a service that is not used by an organisation. In mHealth situations, the rule is applicable. We all adore how time-saving healthcare applications are, allowing us to skip doctor appointments or lab testing. Also, we love the way messages are distributed over mobile devices and the way we can keep an eye on our health while at home. Who could discount the significance of remote care? MHealth appears to be quite practical in the US.

Yet if we really embrace healthcare mobile solutions, all of this is feasible. Some patients still prefer handwritten prescriptions from doctors rather than computerised ones, and some don't know how to get them. Technology is dependable. And a lot of people are still hesitant to give their data to a mobile gadget.

Adoption of mobile health applications:

But when we look at the facts, things get interesting. The number of iOS users who use mHealth solution increased from 43,000 in 2013 to almost 90,000 in 2015. And the number is increasing day by day. But adoption is not. The various services and features that these apps offer are where the issue is. Apps are limited to only presenting information since the functionality they can give is as little as possible. Others who provide numerous uses are unable to do it in a satisfying way. We are all aware that an app focuses on only one service and does not offer work that can be utilised for multiple purposes. As a result, mHealth apps have a difficult time becoming adopted.

Conclusion :

mHealth in the US has grown significantly. Providers must shift their attention away from production and towards adoption if they hope to maintain the momentum of this shift. Developing plenty of apps without a proper deployment and adoption plan won't be beneficial. This can be facilitated by using effective branding and marketing strategies. The ultimate commitment to addressing the issues that mHealth is currently facing can be made by concentrating the business model on elements that boost adoption.
