iPhone X is the most basic model of the X series. It was released in September 2024 on the occasion of the 10th-anniversary celebration of the iPhone. It's among the most powerful Apple phones. But it was discontinued by Apple after the introduction of the XS and XS Max models.
The iPhone XS and XS Max are siblings and were launched in September 2018. Both of them use the same super retina OLED technology but the only difference between these two is the screen size. The XS Max screen is much wider than the XS and also its battery life is a bit more than the basic XS model. But Apple has discontinued these models because they were affecting the sales of iPhone 11, as XS specifications are very close to them.
Many reputed vendors sell refurbished phones and put different models of refurbished iPhones for sale. You can contact them to buy the preowned iPhone XS or XS max.
In October 2019 Apple released iPhone XR, it is the newest among all X series. Its features are similar to the XS model but its display uses “Liquid Retina” LCD technology. And its screen size is wider than XS but smaller than XS max.
The outer shell of all the models of the X series is almost the same, therefore it is very confusing to choose between them. In this article, we will discuss the key features of all four series of iPhone X, so that you can make the right choice while buying an iPhone.
iPhone X, iPhone XS, iPhone XS Max, and XR -:
- Camera -:
iPhone X has two cameras i.e. rear and front. Its front camera is of 7 megapixels whereas the rear camera is of 12 megapixels. And its front camera supports the face detection function.
hardware components of XS & XS max are the same as iPhone X but the setup is quite different. XS and XS Max models also come with a 12-megapixel front camera but its sensor can measure up to 1.4 µm whereas iPhone X sensors can work up to 1.22µm. And it uses a dual-lens camera system. Therefore the picture quality of XS and XS Max is much better than the basic X model.
The screen of XR is 6.1 inches wide.
iPhone XR has a single lens 7Mp rear camera, which is identical to the XS main camera. So, its picture quality is quite similar to the X model.
If you want to click high-quality photos with your iPhone, the buying XS or XS Max will be the best.
- Display -:
The iPhone X display is 5.8” wide and uses OLED technology. Its screen resolution is 1125 X 2436 and the aspect ratio IS 19:5:9. The OLED allows manufacturing more slim phones and better than standard LCD tech.
iPhone XS comes with a 5.8” OLED display while XS max has 6.5” OLED display. The screen resolution of XS is the same as iPhone X i.e 1125x2436 but XS max features a 1242x2688 resolution. The aspect ratio of both XS models is also equivalent to iPhone X.
The screen of the iPhone XR is 6.1” wide and has a resolution of 1792X828. It comes with a liquid retina LCD. Its aspect ratio is also 19.5.9.
If you are looking for a cheap alternative then you should go for a pre-owned iPhone rather than buying a new model. You can contact your friends, neighbours, cousins, or acquaintances who have put refurbished iPhone for sale. But unfortunately, they will not provide you with a warranty on the working of the phone, so it would be better to seek a registered third party dealer.
- Processor -:
iPhone X has an inbuilt 6 core 2.5 gigahertz A11 Bionic processor that is similar to iPhone 8 and 8 plus.
Apple XS, XS Max, and XR are incorporated with Hexa core 2.49 GHz A12 Bionic processor that includes 2 performance cores.
Therefore the operating speed of iPhone X is slower than the other X series phones,
- Memory -:
Talking about memory and storage space, the iPhone X comes with 3 GB RAM. While XS and XS Max is 1 GB more than basic X model i.e. 4 GB RAM. But the XR model includes the same amount of RAM that is in Apple iPhone X.
Conclusion -:
If you are confused about buying an iPhone then the above-mentioned points can resolve your problem. At present, you will be able to buy a brand new model of only iPhone XR from the Apple store, as Apple has stopped selling X, XS, and XS Max. But their refurbished counterparts are still available.
