We all have experienced some bonds that hold great value in our lives, and for these bonds, we can go to any lengths whatsoever be the cost. But there are days when those same practices might require a lot more effort. This might happen due to many different factors, depending on the phase, age, physical distance, emotional availability etc, but it might come off as a failure for many due to the gap between their own intentions and the reality. Let’s learn how to practice healthy boundaries in any relationship, whether family, romantic or even friendships:

Practice communication: Communication simplifies a lot of misunderstandings, yet it’s the most underrated quality that people practice nowadays. Not just to communicate the discomfort, but letting the other person know how you feel can save you from a lot of worries.

Spare time for yourself: It’s good to keep someone on priority and to be there whenever they need you, however, it’s a human thing to feel exhausted sometimes. Along with healthy communication, make sure to spare some time for yourself too. Practice a hobby, cook for yourself, sit with yourself, read a book etc. You can initiate this habit slowly in your routine.

Show efforts: While practicing these aspects, don’t forget to create moments where you can connect with them and let them know that nothing changes even if the routine changes. Practice empathy, listen to what they say, try to know how they are coping up while you’re away. Surprise them on special days, share small details that show that them that they matter to you, spend time with them, tell them about your day and ask them about theirs.

When you’re closely knit in emotional relationships, it’s bound to face ups and downs. Some days will be good, on the other days you might find yourself juggling with too many things on the plate. But with these little aspects kept in mind, your relationships can sail through any storm without much discomfort or burden.
