In the face of ongoing diplomatic disputes between India and Canada, it's astonishing to note that Indian students aiming to pursue their education in Canada continue to experience an outstanding success rate in their visa applications. This success rate typically falls within the impressive range of 85% to 95%, even for those students whose scores are on the cusp of meeting the minimum requirements.

Student Visa Success in Spite of Diplomatic Strife

Despite headlines spotlighting the strained relations between the two nations, Indian students with an overall International English Language Testing System (IELTS) score of six bands, which includes a modest 5 in one or two modules, are consistently securing their study visas. In particular, the Doaba region in Punjab, recognized as a central hub for these applications, has witnessed a remarkable success rate, ranging from 90% to 95%.

Unwavering Demand for Student Visas

Surprisingly, even in the wake of tensions stemming from Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau's insinuations regarding India's involvement in the murder of a Canadian citizen, Hardeep Singh Nijjar, the demand for student visas has not diminished. In fact, certain visa centers have reported a notable upsurge in student visa applications, with an increase of up to 18–19% in the past month.

Consistent Visa Processing

Despite the diplomatic impasse, visa offices have remained steadfast in processing student visa requests, with a significant portion of these requests being managed since the onset of the crisis. Notably, there has been a substantial surge in demand for student visas, while visa approval rates have consistently held steady, ranging from 90% to 92% in recent months.

Success Stories from the Ground

Sumit Jain, representing Jain Overseas in Jalandhar, one of Punjab's largest IELTS centers and overseas consultancies, has reported processing between 250 to 300 student visa applications every month. Jain highlights that the success rate for visas in the past month has remained consistently high, falling between 90% to 92%, with the majority of these applications having been submitted post-crisis. Remarkably, they processed 205 visas in a single day, all applied for after August 10 and processed in an expedited time frame of 12 to 20 days.

Unexpected Achievements in PTE Exams

Even in the Pearson Test of English (PTE) Exam, students with scores as low as 57, 58, and 59 have managed to secure visa approvals, whereas a score of 60 is conventionally deemed the threshold for visa consideration. The continued smooth operation of the student visa application process amidst diplomatic tensions is seen as a testament to the positive and cooperative spirit prevailing between the two nations.

In conclusion, despite the diplomatic disagreements, Indian students aspiring to study in Canada have demonstrated remarkable resilience and a high degree of success in obtaining their study visas, cementing the enduring bond between the two nations in the field of education.
