Minecraft's account migration to Microsoft is underway, and some players aren't completely satisfied. While Mojang claims that the move improves security and will lead to more security features, some players who have multiple accounts are being locked out, and the move is mandatory.

Initially revealed last month, the migration is primarily security-focused. Once you've made the switch, you can use two factor authentication. As as of March 10, however you'll have to move your account in order to play Minecraft, and that's caused a bit of upset with some players.

Docm77, one of the Minecraft creator of content, calls the account migration the "biggest error in the history of Minecraft" via Twitter. The reason for this is "If you have multiple accounts you're required to create a Microsoft account for each". minecraft It is believed that this issue results in having your Microsoft account locked due to a few terms of service. While this isn't an issue that every Minecraft enjoyer is going to encounter, it can be an issue for content creators and those who simply like tinkering with the game, as they might need to make more Microsoft accounts. When it comes to social media, there are a number of reports from players who are having difficulty making the transition.

You don't need to migrate your account as of yet. Find out how to do it here. It's likely to not be a huge deal for many players due to the immense popularity of Xbox Game Pass. A lot of us already have the Windows app installed, so it won't mean much to them that they can use that to launch the Minecraft Launcher if they want.

The migration of accounts is taking place prior to the Minecraft The Wild release, which is scheduled for sometime in this year. To learn more, check out the guide at this link.
