A Minecraft mod is giving underground caverns the rivers they need with a brand new datapack. The Minecraft underground has been the focus of numerous updates in the past few years. The sandbox game has seen a number of major changes to the areas beneath the surface However, none, not even the latest update, has added functioning underground rivers to date.

If there's one thing you can rely on though it's the determination of the Minecraft community to take matters into their own hands. This is among the reasons Minecraft mods range from everything as complicated as Breath of the Wild capabilities to something as simple as extending the distance you can see. Someone has decided to create a datapack to include underground rivers.

Apollowomc posted a Reddit post that showed an underground boat on a river. While there's sometimes a bit of dust in these datapacks the generation looks absolutely beautiful - with vines hanging from the ceiling, lily pads scattered around on the surface, and even aquatic life swimming around underneath the boat. It's a stunning datapack, and is still being developed.

PlanetMinecraft.com allows users to download the data pack. But, it's a demo version. It won't work with other world generation packs currently and there will be updates. Still, though If what you're looking for is underground winding rivers, then this is the perfect excuse to create a new world and begin sailing around.

In other Minecraft news, IKEA created their own version of the game yesterday. We also saw a strange Genshin Impact Fusion yesterday. If you're looking to find ancient cities, we have you covered. We also have all the Minecraft console commands you'll require to make the most of your adventures.
