SEO Mistakes Hurting Your Rankings

SEO Mistakes Hurting Your Rankings
2 min read

A study by Search Engine Journal found that accessibility and indexation are responsible for 21% of all SEO errors. This makes accessibility one of the most common SEO mistakes.

To be inclusive, prioritize alt-text features and remove iframes.

Fix it: Add alt texts to your images to make it easier for people with vision impairments to understand the stories your photos tell. Prioritize accuracy above keyword density. You should also get rid of all iframes from your website. They can negatively impact page speed and hinder your SEO efforts. Flash elements should be removed from your pages.

Your Content is Too Short

Content is becoming more important these days.

Experts recommend that you give Google and other search engines 300 words. However, it is recommended to have more. SERPIQ study found that the first SERP result typically contains 2,416 words, while the tenth usually has 2,032.

How do you fix it? Go back to your old content to see if there are any improvements that could be made to make it at most 300 words. You can find any missing content or gas, then flesh them out. Also, check out the writings of your competitors on the subject and try to improve your piece. Longer content should be prioritized on a regular basis in the future.

Your Meta Content Is Not Properly Optimized

Meta content (or tags) are text embedded in a webpage's code that describes the page's content to search engines such as Google, Bing, and Yahoo! This allows search engines to better understand your page and index it accordingly.
