If you have never been to Liverpool and you are about to make that first visit, then be ready for a city that has a vibe all of its own! No matter what you ask of Liverpool is comes up with the answer and it will be very special. It is more than just The Beatles, as fantastic as going on The Beatles Tour is and one of the things that you really should do – but it has so much more, in some of the most unexpected ways!

Museums, parks and galleries galore!

Liverpool has more museums and art galleries that any other place in the UK outside of London! With the Planetarium and The Natural History Centre at The World Museum, there are also huge collections of items with cover the natural and Physical sciences, ethnology and archaeologywith some particularly fine Egyptian mummies. Looking for something right up to date? Then head for The Tate Liverpoolwhich was created to display modern art works from The Tate Collection, this is a gallery that has to be on your itinerary. On the Albert Dock you will find the Maritime Museum and The Beatles Story. The list is too long to mention each museum and gallery one by one!P.S. Don’t forget the parks – there are more here than in leafy Paris!!

The architecture of the beautiful Georgian Quarter

The Georgian Quarter not only has some outstanding architecture, where Hope Street itself is topped and tailed by the two Liverpool Cathedrals, the Anglican and the affectionately titled “Paddy’s Wigwam, the Catholic cathedral. So called because of its iconic shape. Here you will find the Everyman Theatre, the Liverpool Philharmonic, and if you have planned to stay at the Hope Street Hotel, you will be perfectly placed to explore this area.

The Albert Dock area

No trip to Liverpool should fail to include a wander around The Albert Dock, even if you do not have a particular destination in mind you can soak up the atmosphere and enjoy some street food from one of the many diners, or sit and watch the world go by from a café or bar. Being here it could be in your mind to chill out on the Mersey Ferry and take a look at Liverpool from the water. You will get perfect views of the Three Graces for example. Being on the vividly decorated “Snowdrop” you will love this ferry ride as a part of Liverpool and the spirit is embodies.

Liverpool is MUSIC!

We have already mentioned The Beatles just in passing, but music is often seen as the jewel in the crown of the city! Titled as the UNESCO City of Music and the World Capital of Pop. You will be spoilt for choice for live music venues, and during the day you can visit The British Music Experience which not only exhibits memorabilia for some of the all-time greats of British music, butis an immersive experience where you can try out instruments for yourself. At the heart of it all is Beatlemania, visit the Cavern Club, or jump aboard The Magical MysteryBus, and don’t forget the statue of the Fab Four at Pier Head.
