Conchita's new-found fans were greatly disappointed to learn that the eccentric singer was in fact only the alter ego of Austrian musician Thomas Neuwirth. Until recently, Thomas continued to use the image that people loved. But the other day it became known that Conchita Wurst changed the image and began to look completely new!

The Austrian Neuwirth is a professional singer, model and drag queen who has been performing on the big stage since as far back as 2006. Thomas originally started his career under his own name. But in 2011, he decided to fight for the hearts of people as the eccentric bearded singer Conchita Wurst. And he was a big success!
Thomas created the boisterous Conchita for a reason. "A woman with a beard is a striking statement, a catalyst for discussions about normality. When it comes to human freedom, appearance and gender play no role. Everyone should have the right to live the way they want as long as it doesn't hurt anyone," Neuwirth argues.

Conchita's career
Thomas first appeared in this character in 2011 on the stage of one of Austria's most popular reality shows. Since then, the man has regularly performed under the name Conchita, and in 2012, he tried himself out for the first time in the Eurovision selection. Madame Wurst came in second place, but the band that passed the contest did not even make it to the finals as a result!
In 2014, the Austrian authorities still let Conchita in the Eurovision Song Contest, and they were right. The bold, bearded woman became Neuwirth's calling card. Under the name of Conchita the musician recorded two albums and 14 singles. But characteristically, in all interviews Neuwirth clearly distinguishes between his everyday and stage persona!

Farewell to Conchita
At one time Tom joked, "I practically live a double life. On weekends I'm a very lazy guy, but on weekdays I'm an extremely busy lady." But since 2017, Neuwirth began to notice that it was time to slowly say goodbye to Conchita. In the singer's opinion, this image has practically exhausted itself. And so it seems to have turned out.
At the beginning of June 2023, Conchita Wurst changed her image, and she did it very dramatically. As we noted above, Neuwirth previously clearly separated himself as a man and his female image. Now Conchita's social networks are full of photos of Thomas as a man. It seems that Neuwirth really decided to send his feminine image to rest.
Many fans of the Austrian sincerely hope that the singer has not finally parted ways with Conchita. Others sincerely welcome the changes in Neuwirth's life.
