The Tax Identification Number (NIF) is necessary to carry out procedures before the Tax Agency when a DNI or NIE is not available.

You can obtain a NIF through the Consular Office:

  • Foreigners residing in the consular demarcation who do not have a NIE (NIF M)
  • Legal entities with registered office in the consular demarcation (NIF N)

Process

The request can be submitted in person or through a representative.

For inquiries, you can request information via email cog.montevideo.info@maec.es or by phone 095 672 060
