Method 2. Turn off User Account Control settings

Follow the steps given below to turn off the UAC settings:

  • Hit Windows and R keys simultaneously to open the Run window.
  • After that, type Control Panel and click OK.
  • Choose User Accounts and click User Accounts (Classic View).
  • Next, select the Change user account control settings option.
  • Shift the slider to Never Notify and click OK to turn off the UAC.
  • Move the slider to Always Notify and select OK to turn on the UAC.
  • Now, restart the system.

Method 3. Check your antivirus software and rename the QuickBooks update folder

  • Press Ctrl + Shift + Esc to open the Task Manager.
  • In the Process tab, locate your antivirus software process and exit it.
