How does a rainbow form?

Rainbows are formed when sunlight is refracted, or bent, as it passes through water droplets in the air. The different colors of the rainbow are actually different wavelengths of light, and they are refracted at slightly different angles. This causes the light to spread out and create a spectrum of colors that we can see. The order of the colors, from top to bottom, is always red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, and violet.
