The size of your treehouse will depend on whether you're creating a new building or a main hub. In addition, the biome you choose to build in will dictate the extent to which you can use naturally generated trees versus trees that you artificially create yourself.

1. Simple Treehouse



If you are having trouble building a Minecraft treehouse, it's best to start simple. Attach the small, four-walled home to a tree that is at an appropriate height. It doesn't matter if the house is hung from the tree or is on the ground nearby.

As you progress through the game, you can increase the size of the tree and down. This is a great way to begin if you're new to Minecraft and building this type of home.



2. Jungle Treehouse



In the biome that has the tallest trees, it makes sense to make use of the estate and build a shack high in the sky. The abundance of tall trees and hanging vines allow an easy way to connect numerous small structures.

The vines found on many Jungle biomes trees act as natural ladders. You can also put them on leaves all around the tree to create a natural cover/camouflage.

If you're in a world of multiplayer with friends, this can be a very enjoyable and doable project, with individual houses creating a beautiful Ewok-style village as the final result!



3. Leaf House



Are you having trouble getting your home to look right, hanging to the side of a tree? Explore other options and instead have your home base within the leaves of trees. By using shears to collect leaves from surrounding trees, you can create an encircling of leaves on top of those that are naturally generated by the trees.

Although this could limit your range of decoration and space, it can prove to be the best way to allow your home to blend in with the surroundings.

Tip: Change your graphic settings from Fast to Fancy to ensure that the leaves no longer appear translucent. This will make any buildup under the leaves completely invisible.



4. Literal Tree House

If you want to move things to the next level of weird and unique, drop the task of searching for the perfect tree to call home and instead create your own. Although it is not the most efficient way to use resources, it can be enjoyable to construct your home to look like an actual tree.

5. Nether Tree House



With the Nether expanding forest biomes as of late it is possible to take advantage of the lush real estate to build an up-high home in the deep down below. You might lose your home if you use blocks that are exclusive to the Nether like Crimson Blocks or Netherrack.

There are many threats in the Nether. If you have enough Obsidian It could be logical to build your home (or at least the outer shell) using it. This will lessen the damage from any Ghast fireballs found near your building.



6. Tree Root House



Are you looking to do something a bit unconventional? Go underground with some Stripped Logs, and build the tree roots. You can hang a home by using the roots to hang it from the ceiling of the cave.
