About the Position:
- Deliver comprehensive nursing care to a diverse population of inmates with acute and chronic illnesses.
- Conduct thorough patient assessments, monitor vital signs, and document progress.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by healthcare professionals.
- Provide emotional support and patient education on disease management and healthy lifestyle choices.
- Collaborate with physicians, psychiatrists, counselors, and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated care.
- Maintain accurate and detailed medical records.
- Foster a safe and therapeutic environment for patients and staff.
Qualifications:
- Active RN license in California.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a correctional facility or similar setting preferred.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong teamwork and collaboration abilities.
- Compassionate and patient-centered approach to care.
- BLS and ACLS certification required.
- Ability to work effectively in a secure and challenging environment.
- Familiarity with correctional healthcare policies and procedures a plus.
