About the Position:
- Deliver evidence-based nursing care to a diverse population of patients with severe mental illness.
- Conduct thorough mental health assessments, monitor vital signs, and document progress.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by psychiatrists and other healthcare professionals.
- Implement therapeutic interventions and provide emotional support to patients.
- Collaborate with psychiatrists, therapists, social workers, and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated care.
- Foster a safe and secure environment for patients and staff.
- Maintain accurate and detailed clinical records.
Qualifications:
- Active RN license in California.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a psychiatric setting preferred.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong teamwork and collaboration abilities.
- Compassionate and patient-centered approach to care.
- Commitment to providing culturally competent care.
- BLS and ACLS certification required.
- Ability to work effectively in a secure and demanding environment.
- Knowledge of forensic psychiatry principles a plus.
