A group of hackers known as SiegedSec is targeting US state agencies that have anti-abortion positions in protest against the Supreme Court's decision to reverse Roe v Wade that guaranteed the right to abortion.

The first batch of data it has leaked includes eight gigabytes apparently taken from state governments in Kentucky which has banned abortion except in rare circumstances and Arkansas, which has completely banned it.

A post on the hacker group's Telegram channel appears to show documents with information on property transactions and includes personally identifiable information for residents of those states.

On June 23, the Supreme Court upended almost 50 years of precedent by reversing the famous Roe in Wade decision which legalized abortion in America and sparked widespread protests and multiple trigger-law bans at the state level.

'These docs have plenty of employee PII (personally identifiable information) and many more.'

SiegedSec also assured its followers that it will continue to do blackhat work likely referring specifically to its more common activities of targeting private companies.

Anti-abortion US state agencies are being targeted by a hacking group. After Roe Wade v Wade was ruled invalid by the Supreme Court on June 24 Protesters against abortion rights were observed.

According to dark web security company DarkOwl, the hacker group is the result of the ongoing Russian war in Ukraine.

SiegedSec has compromised more than 100 websites since its formation, DarkOwl states.

It also has accessed several thousand LinkedIn profiles.

DarkOwl declared that the group was a 'fairly small-scale operation with the potential to grow into a high-consequential threat cyber-attacks' prior the latest US state hacks.
