Xbox has teamed up with the preservation society National Trust (opens in new tab) as well as a group of British creatives to make an Minecraft model of Corfe Castle. The intricate impressive construction was funded by Xbox UK as part of the National Trust's festival of archaeology which encourages people to design "their own version of the ruin using the foundations."

To accomplish this the first build was created by a YouTube video maker named Grian, whose work is highlighted in the video above and also on YouTube. (opens in a new tab) Grian created a build that highlights the most striking Corfe Castle's features, such as its historical octagonal towerand miniature palace, and "Gloriette". It is a medieval kingly version, I believe, of the Victorian folly.

"Grian has done an amazing job restoring Corfe Castle back to its former splendor. He not only created an exact recreation of the various historical styles within the castle grounds but he also combined it with his own creativity. We are eager to see more inspirational designs by more young minds," said Martin Papworth, an archaeologist at the National Trust.

You can download Corfe's ruins yourself by checking out the Minecraft server corfe.ruinsreimagined.com. Minecraft Servers The ruin can be downloaded as a package for Minecraft: Education Edition to be used in classrooms. Microsoft's website has more information. (opens in an entirely new tab)
