HOW TO PROPERLY CLEAN THE INSIDE OF YOUR COMPUTER

The most crucial thing to remember while cleaning your case is that we want cold, fresh air to enter the case and heated air to exit. If your dust filters are clogged or there is extra dust near the heat sinks, this will not be feasible, and your system may overheat.

To counteract this, you should do all possible to remove dust and leave your system fresh and clear.

Take extreme care to avoid static harm when cleaning your computer or its components. If you don't have an anti-static wristband, be sure you ground yourself by touching your case or PSU housing on a frequent basis.

Wear a dust mask or respirator if you don't want to breathe in any of the dust and debris you remove from your case.

Turn off your computer and unhook the power wire from the back. Unplug everything to be extra safe.

If feasible, move your computer to a well-ventilated area, or open a window or door to allow fresh air into the room.

Remove your case's side panels and, if feasible, the front panel.

Clean the dust from any dust filters and any apparent accumulation in the case's base with a lint-free cloth or a can of compressed air.

To clean, use a can of compressed air—we don't advocate trying to blow aggressively yourself.
