How to Fix a Leaky Shower Hose in 3 Easy Steps

If you’ve ever had water leaking out of your shower faucet, you know that it can be a major nuisance and waste of water – especially if you live in an area where water usage fees are high. Luckily, however, the problem is easy to fix with a few simple steps and just one tool (a flathead screwdriver or similar item). Even if you’re not exactly handy when it comes to home repair, this shouldn’t be too hard for you.

Here’s how to fix a leaky shower hose in 3 easy steps!

Step 1: Remove The Old Showerhead

First, start by turning the shower off and making sure that the area is dry. Second, disconnect any hoses from the shower arm and loosen the nut on each side of the shower hose holder with an adjustable wrench. Third, duschslang both hoses from the holder using pliers and then use a pipe wrench or another type of wrench to remove the nuts holding it in place. Fourth, put everything away carefully so that there are no loose or sharp edges around you while you work with them. Fifth, after removing any remaining water with a cloth or mop if necessary, unscrew the old shower head with your hands.

Step 2: Clean The Area Around Your New Showerhead

Carefully clean any debris and dust that may have gathered around the base of your shower head. It can be helpful to blow compressed air into the area or use a damp cloth. Be sure not to get any water on the base where the new showerhead will attach. Next, inspect your long shower hose for kinks or knots that could possibly form during use. Straightening out these pieces before connecting them with your new showerhead will keep you from having to replace your long hose due to malfunctioning after installation. The last thing you want is for it to break on day one! Finally, secure and tighten any loose screws by using the screwdriver included with your new kit (most hardware kits come with one).

Step 3: Install Your New Head And Turn The Water On

Now that you've removed the old shower head and replaced it with your new one, you can turn on the water and test it out! If the water is coming out of the shower head in full force, great!
