The spinach crop is developed as a green vegetable. Spinach is rich in iron. Generally, spinach vegetable is consumed throughout the year, but in the winter season, it is utilised in additional quantities. Apart from spinach, its vegetable is used with mustard greens, corn roti and paneer.

Soil, Climate & Temperature

For its cultivation, sandy loam soil is required. Its crop should not be done in waterlogged land, and the P.H. of the land. Its plants grow well at average temperatures, and plants require a 20-degree temperature for germination. However, it can easily tolerate a maximum 30-degree temperature and a minimum 5-degree temperature. Moreover, for land preparation a power tiller machine is used which is robust and provides efficient work.

Field preparation

Due to this, the soil of the field will get good sunlight. Since the spinach crop is harvested multiple times, its plants require more fertilizer. After ploughing the field, 15 to 17 carts of old cow dung manure should be given per hectare to provide sufficient fertilizer.

Mixing the waste in the ground, use water and pulverize it. After this, when the field's soil starts appearing dry from above, plough the field once again, due to which the earth will become friable. To make the spinach field level, it should be levelled by putting a slat in the land. Due to this, there is no problem with water logging in the field. Apart from this, 40 kg of phosphorus, 30 kg of nitrogen, and 40 kg of potash are mixed in the soil by sprinkling it in the field as chemical fertilizer and about 20 kilograms of urea at the time of harvesting. Sprinkle this quantity in the area. This allows the plant to overgrow and be ready for harvesting.

Transplanting Method

During July, during the rainy season, its plants overgrow. Planting spinach seeds can be done in many ways, first by transplanting method and second by spraying method. In the transplanting process, spinach seeds are planted on the meadows, in which 25 kg seeds are required per hectare. The same spraying method requires 30 to 35 kg seeds per hectare. Before transplanting the spinach seeds in the field, they should be treated with an appropriate amount of Bavistin or Captan drug. Also, soaking the seeds in cow urine for 2 to 3 hours can be treated.

Moreover, its roots should be planted in the soil at a depth of two to three centimetres, so the seeds germinate well. Apart from this, for planting seeds in the field by spraying, appropriate beds are prepared in the area and sprinkled in those beds. After this, the roots are buried in the ground with the help of a hand.

Irrigation

For the incredible growth of its plants, they need more irrigation because the soil needs to be wet for planting its seeds. They require irrigation twice a week in the summer and at an interval of 10 to 12 days in the winter.

Weed Control

Spinach plants require more weed control. Thereby affecting its yield. For weed control in spinach crops, natural or chemical methods can be used. To get control of weeds by a chemical process, a proper amount of Pentamethylene should be sprayed in the field immediately after planting the seeds. For the control of weeds by natural method, weeding is done. The first wedding of spinach plants should be done 15 days after sowing the seeds. After this, from time to time, if weeds are seen in the middle of the trees in the field, do their hoeing.

Harvesting

Afterwards, a bundle of harvested leaves should be made and tied with a rope. After washing these bundles thoroughly in water, they are ready to be sold in the market.

To get the seeds from the spinach plants, they should be left like this for some time after three to four harvestings. After this, when the seeds start appearing on the plants, they are harvested and separated. After this, dry these seeds and divide them by machine. Finally, collect these separated seeds by filling them in the bore and sending them to be sold in the market.
